Only a tip to be more &quot;debian like style/compatible&quot;, the step 4 can be a file (ex. create a  /etc/php5/conf.d/ioncube.ini) with the line zend_extension = /usr/local/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so.
It´s more compatible in future upgrades.
